In Renée Shafransky’s gripping debut, TIPS FOR LIVING, a wronged woman determined to “come back to life” following a very public, devastating divorce—finds herself instead at the center of a double-murder investigation. The victims? Her ex-husband and his new wife. Making matters worse yet: she can’t account for the night of the murders…What ensues is an engrossing whodunit full of suspense and a soulful exploration of betrayal that keeps readers guessing “did she or didn’t she” until the very end. Shafransky is a writer and psychotherapist. Her articles and essays have appeared in various publications, including the Village VoiceCondé Nast Traveler, and the Southampton Review. She has written screenplays for major motion picture studios and teleplays for HBO and PBS, working with renowned directors such as Harold Ramis. She also produced the acclaimed film of her ex-husband, writer and actor Spalding Gray’s monologue, Swimming to Cambodia, directed by Jonathan Demme. She currently practices as a psychotherapist in New York City and Sag Harbor, where she makes her home with her partner, Nick, and her dog, Hitchcock. Tips for Living is her first novel.
